In response to the Corona Virus / COVID 19:

Community Christian Church is open for Sunday morning worship at 10:30 only, until April 24, and we are committed to keeping people safe while in the church building. Our goal is to resume with Bible study groups, youth and children's groups, meetings, etc. again on April 25 at their regularly scheduled times. Please read on for more details:

-- The building is open for groups such as AA and TOPS to meet.
-- Chairs remain spaced at every other row, with some chairs removed from the middle of rows for social distancing.
-- The carpets continue to be cleaned periodically, with surfaces being cleaned and sanitized regularly.
-- Communion and offering plates will not be passed around, but will be at a station that individuals go up to. Covers will remain on the trays until the time when the Lord’s Supper is taken.
-- We understand that some may choose to attend live worship at the church building and some may choose to worship online at their home.   It is an individual choice and we respect whichever option fits you and your circumstances.
-- It is recommended and requested that masks be worn while walking through the building. Masks may be removed once seated or once leaders are on the platform, if desired. Those who are unable to wear a mask because of health concerns are not being requested to do so.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. The rest of the page presents more details for your safety consideration. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at 989-292-0947.

Blessings to you,
Tyler

Safety guidelines:
  • Masks – the CDC is recommending people wear them. Church leadership requests and recommends that a mask be worn when walking through the building, but can be removed once you are seated or are on the platform if desired. We have free cloth masks (while available) on a table at the church for whoever wants one.
  • Hand sanitizer – will be placed at the entrance of the church, feel free to use it when entering.
  • Hand washing – please wash hands, soap is provided in the restrooms and kitchen area.
  • Sanitizing wipes – these will be placed throughout the building.
  • Please maintain social distancing as much as possible – for the present time we are asking that everyone refrain from hugs, handshakes and please be respectful of others since we all have different comfort levels. It is requested that people maintain a respectful distance from one another, especially in the doorways, stairways and aisles. Chairs in the worship area have been rearranged for social distancing. Consider rearranging tables if it makes sense for your class or group.
  • It is recommended and requested that when sitting, a chair width remain between individuals who are not of the same household.
  • Groups should consider how they can reduce the risk of infection transmission by limiting the touching of certain items as much as possible. For example, assign 1 or 2 people to handle pouring coffee, rather than everyone pouring their own. Another idea: Rather than pass a collection basket around, consider putting it in one location and having people drop their donation into it. Or consider using pre-wrapped snacks, rather than a snack where multiple people are reaching into the same box or container. Those are some thoughts for your consideration.
  • We are making cleaning and sanitizing supplies available for teachers, leaders, and groups to use after their classes or meetings are done. Please wipe down surfaces and items that have been touched after each meeting such as: tables, chair backs, counters, coffee pot handles, switches, etc.
  • If you are sick or showing signs of Covid19 illness such as fever, coughing, losing sense of taste or smell, or shortness of breath – stay home.

We are monitoring State, Federal and CDC guidelines and will communicate information as the church board deems appropriate.
